We like to have fun at our photoshoots

We know that most people are nervous at the thought of a photoshoot – particularly when they arrive and meet someone they’ve never met before. This lady was fairly quiet when we met, and a little anxious about the photoshoot we were about to do together. Therefore, during the first half of the photoshoot we took our time to get to know each other, giving her a lot of direction on how to pose.

After a while, once she’d seen some of the photos we were creating, she began to trust us and she became happy to try out some more informal things. We agreed to spend a few minutes just having some fun, so this willing participant had a great time doing some fabulous jumping poses during this photoshoot, which we feel look so good and really show off her inner personality.

Did someone say anxious and lacking in confidence?!?!

A mix of bright and dark photos

On this summer’s day the backgrounds in the park were a beautiful vibrant green, which worked really well against the blues of this woman’s outfit. With our professional mobile studio we’re able to make a dark day look like a light one, as well as transform a light summer’s day into a much darker and more moody look. All of these portraits were created on a bright sunny afternoon, in the same place in the park.

This style of photoshoot was one of our Experience Photoshoots, where we work with a family for a longer period of time. These photoshoots work best in outdoor locations. During one of these Experience Photoshoots we try to blend into the background to capture the very real memories that happen as the family experiences part of their everyday life.

For this photoshoot we went for a walk together in a lovely green nearby cornfield. Although we will do some posed photos, many of the photos from this type of photoshoot are more likely to be candid, informal photos where the family aren’t looking onto the camera.

Again, props to the rescue – if you give a child something to do that they enjoy, you’ll get some great portrait photos that really start to capture the things about them that you love to watch.

Location portraits of a young girl

We travelled to the grounds of West Wycombe Park to take some outdoor portrait photos in the grounds and gardens. We knew this location would provide a lush green background for the photos, so we suggested complementary pinks and blues for the clothes, which work well together against the surrounding greens.

A trip to Hughenden Park in High Wycombe in the summer proved to be the ideal location to get some good informal photos of a young girl exploring the outdoors. These two photos show her fascination with something as simple as a daisy in the field, as she explores the new things around her in nature.
