In the cobbled streets of London we did this really enjoyable photoshoot of a female guitarist – we felt the black and white versions looked so much better than the colour ones.

Mum and her daughters
Posted onHere are some of our favourite photos from this family photoshoot – it was really difficult to choose, as there were so many beautiful photos. The photoshoot was such fun, as we’d allowed time for the girls to play, relax and to be themselves.
Evening couples photoshoot
Posted onIn this photoshoot we created a large set of photos of this couple together, as well as some lovely portraits of each of them individually.
The stylish teenagers
Posted onWith this older family of teenagers we’d already created a wide range of ‘proper’ portraits for the family to hang on their walls at home. It was now time for something a little bit different. As always, we talked through our ideas with them to see how keen they were.
We wanted to do something edgy, with more ‘attitude’, to reflect more of their personalities – a strong, black and white approach helped to create a really elegant style which they all loved.
We’ll let the kids enjoy themselves on a photoshoot
Posted onGreat family portrait photos only come from happy children, so we’ll do everything we can to get down to their level and talk to them, as well as encourage them to just be themselves and show us their personalities.
Summer photoshoot of a young couple
Posted onOn a summer’s evening, with the sun low in the sky, we had some great fun on this outdoor photoshoot of a young couple in the park. As usual we spent most of the time creating a range of great photos of the two of them together. But once we’d finished we then did some solo portraits of each of them.
Natural outdoor family portrait of a group of cousins
Posted onThis was an outdoor portrait session of a group of cousins together. They didn’t often meet as a group, so the parents wanted a photo that caught them all together, but in a setting that was as natural as possible. We went to a nearby field and got them to fool around for a few minutes until they were feeling right at home in front of the camera.
Studio portraits of a young girl
Posted onThis was quite a long studio session, to make sure we created some really good portrait photos as part of a collection that could be displayed in a family album, as well as with a couple framed pieces of art on their walls. Many of these photos were slightly posed, as a way of helping make this toddler look really cute. However, as is our approach to working with families, we do everything we can to get down to their level and work at their speed to keep them fully engaged in the whole experience.
Baby girl portraits
Posted onHere’s a studio photo of a cute baby girl in a fluffy towel. This gives a comparison between a colour and a black and white photo to see which one looked better.
Baby’s tiny hands and feet
Posted onThere’s something so adorable about a baby’s little fingers, hands and feet – they’re just so tiny. Babies grow into toddlers so quickly, almost without us noticing, so we love to take close-up photos of their tiny, cute and gorgeous hands and feet to remember just how small and adorable they were.
It also helps to have an adult’s hand in some photos, to show just how small the baby’s hands really are – in the middle photo this baby is holding onto her dad’s finger, so you can see just how small hers are in comparison.
